Understanding the Results
Most babies will screen negative. A negative screen means that it is unlikely that your baby has one of the conditions included in the GUARDIAN Study. Most babies who have one of these conditions will screen positive on this test. However, there is a small chance the screen could miss a baby who has a condition. Therefore, even if your baby’s test is negative, there is still a small chance that your baby could have one of these conditions because no test is perfect.
This screen is only looking at some genetic conditions. There are many other genetic conditions that are not included in this screen. Most health conditions that people develop in their lifetime are not included on this screen.
